Week one will forever remain in my memories in a box marked “Do not open” in a vault marked “Repressed Memories; you’re better off without them anyway.” But the results of that week's worth of pushing myself well past breaking point speak for themselves. The blood, sweat and pain (oh god the pain! I woke up every morning thinking “I had muscles here all my life? And I worked them out last night?”) were all worth it. The results are phenomenal for one week’s worth of training. OK, enough hype for the results, I will show them to you in table format:

The results are phenomenal for one week’s worth of training. OK, enough hype for the results, I will show them to you in table format:
Week 1 | Week 2 | |
Arm | 33cm | 34cm |
Chest | 97cm | 97cm |
Waist | 96cm | 93cm |
Hips | 101cm | 98cm |
Thigh | 50cm | 54.5cm |
Calf | 37cm | 38cm |
Weight | 76kg | 75.6kg |
Body Fat % | 28.4% | 25.5% |
So I'm not only gaining in the places I wanted to gain but losing in the places I wanted to lose. Although my chest hasn’t changed size, it has firmed up considerably. I have also lost a whopping 2.9% body fat in one week! I need to interject here and state that I have not taken a single supplement and will continue to not take any supplements while doing this. I’m doing this challenge all natural with just good diet and exercise. The diet I have been following is a low carb, high protein and green vegetable matter one. Chicken and Eggs are my main source of protein while all my vitamin intake comes from the different greens I eat. Yes that’s right, I don’t even take multivitamins!
Something else I have noticed during this challenge is my abilities outside of gym have improved. I am no longer out of breath at the top of the four flights of stairs that I need to walk up every day on the way to my office. I might complain about my quads being sore from the walk, but it is with more breath in my lungs. My posture is also improving, mainly because it actually hurts to not have good posture. And despite all the muscular pain I have more energy in average day to day activities, and that is just one week of Crossfit. It would seem it really does work.
